Tim KoschützkiNew API for Template management & improved Assembly API docs
We'd like to make two big announcements concerning our API today.
Tim KoschützkiAdding density parameter to our /document/thumbs Robot
We have added a
densityoption to our /document/thumbs Robot to make dealing with high-resolution PDF files easier. The density (in pixels per inch) of an image defines how far apart (or how big) the individual pixels are, thus defining the spatial resolution of an image.
Tim KoschützkiLaunching Assembly Notification for enhanced workflows
We are happy to announce the immediate availability of a new Assembly Notification system, which scans your Assemblies once every 24 hours and looks for errors that are fixable on the user's end. Examples for such errors are Template misconfigurations and invalid URLs used in the /http/import Robot. There are many different kinds of problems that the system scans for. It then emails you the number of errors it found and suggests ways on how to fix them.
Tim KoschützkiTransloadit now offers SVG support for images
We are happy to announce that as of today, we have added support for SVG to our /image/resize and /document/thumbs Robots. We have also put up a demo, so you can see this new functionality in action: convert an SVG file to JPG
Tim KoschützkiIntroducing jQuery 1.9 support in our JavaScript plugin
It has come to our attention that when upgrading your jquery-rails gem (or using other means of upgrading to jQuery 1.9 anyway), our jQuery SDK had some compatibility issues (
$.browserdoesn't exist anymore in jQuery 1.9 which was required by one of our components).
Kevin van ZonneveldEnhancing crash handling & auto-replay for Assemblies
Crashed Assemblies are Assemblies that finish with the error code
ASSEMBLY_CRASHED. Unfortunately they still occur from time to time due to server problems or outages. Only about every 10,000th Assembly crashes, so it doesn't happen a lot. But rest assured that we are working hard on getting rid of crashed Assemblies altogether. This is harder than it seems, though, so we decided we first need to improve how we handle the case when an Assembly crashes.
