# Convert an image from GIF to BMP

Transloadit's API makes light work of changing the format of images from GIF to BMP. Whether we need to convert directly as your users upload, or processing entire media libraries in the background, you can use [🤖/image/resize](/docs/robots/image-resize.md) and set its `format` parameter to the appropriate value.

In this case `"bmp"` to convert to Microsoft Windows bitmap image images. We'll accept any image as input, no need to define that, but in this demo, we'll be uploading CompuServe graphics interchange format images (GIF).
