# Extract a preview from a video

If you want to extract a preview from a video,[custom FFmpeg parameters](/docs/robots/video-encode.md#ffmpeg-parameters-video-encode) allow you to specify points in the video to clip. In this demo we take a 5 second clip, 5 seconds into the video and a 5 second clip, two-thirds into the video.
