How SVOD works
An SVOD platform combines recurring subscription billing with an entitlement service that decides which catalog titles an account may play on demand. Playback authorization may also consider plan tier, territory, device policy, concurrency, and the current licensing window. The commercial model differs from transactional access to individual titles and from advertising-funded access, although services can mix models. Its media workflow connects content rights, catalog metadata, packaging, DRM or token issuance, playback analytics, and subscriber lifecycle events.
