Build your own YouTube-like site with Uppy and Firebase
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to build your own YouTube-like site where you can upload videos and users can watch in different formats, while having discussions on the video page?
Samuel OgundipeExpanding to Singapore for better Asia-Pacific service
Transloadit currently operates from two main datacenters, one in the US (North Virginia) and one in the EU (Ireland). Most of our users are served well by these, but for people in Japan or Australia, we could still do better. So we're opening in a third datacenter in Singapore (also named: Asia-Pacific, AP, or:
ap-southeast-1) in order to offer much lower latencies for the entire region.
Kevin van ZonneveldAddressing the December 6 outage: steps & solutions
On December 6, the thing we always dread the most happened. At 13:23, we noticed capacity issues with our platform. It soon turned out to be a serious issue which resulted in downtime for many use cases. We are extremely sorry that we allowed this to happen. Uptime and reliability are essential for the service we provide to our customers, so we work hard to make sure that these outages are as few and far between as possible.
Kevin van ZonneveldIntroducing recursive imports for S3 in Transloadit
We are excited to show you a new addition to our /s3/import Robot. Until now, we didn't offer a way to recursively import files from your Amazon S3 buckets to use in Transloadit. Usually, you would need to specify each folder in an Assembly Step — and that can be a lot of work.
Samuel OgundipeIntroducing the /dropbox/store Robot for easy exports
This blogpost will be the first of a series that we're calling Re-loadit. In this series, we will be covering a number of Transloadit's features that haven't yet received a proper introduction to our users.
Tyler McAllisterEasily burn subtitles into videos with our new Robot
If you built a product, chances are you want people to know about it and start using it, too. And if you are in the business of selling something to consumers, placing video ads on websites is a very effective way to go about that.
Samuel OgundipeSneak peek: Transloadit's new dashboard enhancements
My colleagues have been hard at work for over two months designing a new and improved dashboard for all Transloadit users to enjoy! With a more modern look, streamlined interfaces and brand-new features being some of our main goals, we're seeking any and all feedback from our users. Let's dive into the changes and see all the improvements that have already been made.
Tyler McAllisterTransloadit launches Turbo Mode for faster video encoding
What if I told you there is an even faster way to encode your videos? If there is already a smile forming on your face, I promise not to disappoint you with what you are going to read next. One of the latest things we have come up with here at Transloadit is "Turbo Mode". This new feature will help you to drastically cut down on video encoding time. In the next couple of sections, we'll be going through various tests and results to show you all about it.
Samuel OgundipeIntroducing the Transloadit Wizard: a quick setup guide
One of our new creations here at Transloadit is the Transloadit Wizard. This tool allows you to quickly create Encoding Instructions tailor-made to your needs in only five short steps. The Instructions are saved in a Template for security and reusability. My teammates recently created this feature, so today I will give it a spin and take you through a short tutorial to show how effective the Wizard really is. If you have a Transloadit account and want to follow along, you can find the Wizard here.
Tyler McAllisterGhostscript security incident (vu#332928)
On August 21, 2018, Tavis Ormandy of Google's Project Zero disclosed security issues with the way that ImageMagick delegates work to Ghostscript.
Kevin van ZonneveldAccidental breaking change for the crop resize strategy
On 4 June at 5:32pm CEST, we deployed a backward-compatibility-breaking change, even though we pledge to never 'just do' this and, for example, take extreme care in stack herding to ensure our customers' setups only change when they choose to opt in.
Kevin van ZonneveldReleasing our newly rewritten Android SDK
Although the Java SDK could already be used for Android projects, and we also had a previously written Android integration (which has since been deprecated), we are excited to announce the release of our newly rewritten Android SDK. This latest devkit offers an API that is more consistent with the rest of our SDKs.
Ifedapo OlarewajuAutomate your automation: launching the Transloadit integration for Zapier
We are happy to announce that we are ready to launch the Transloadit integration for Zapier. A beta version was already made available a few months ago for testing purposes and a lot of progress has been made as a result of that. With all the i’s dotted, t’s crossed and sharp edges generally smoothened out, we are now comfortable to slap a 1.0 tag onto it and see what people can do with this new toy.

Kevin van ZonneveldNew pricing model for future Transloadit customers
We have made big announcements whenever we lowered our pricing, so we feel it is only fair to do the same when we go the other way.
