Up until now, if you reached your bill limit (in case you had configured one in your account settings) no new Assemblies would be accepted. This is not desirable in most cases, as your users would not be able to upload anything anymore. Also, they would see an awkward error message saying "BILL_LIMIT_REACHED". The worst part is that you wouldn't even get an email about this. Your upload service might not work, you wouldn't notice and it's only partly your fault ... and partly ours.

We have just added a new delay parameter for our /document/thumbs Robot! It allows you to control the delay between frames when converting PDF files into animated gifs.

Browsers usually render images from top to bottom as the image's data is downloaded. This is good enough most of the time, because the majority of your images may be pretty small in file size and/or the internet connection of your average user might be really fast. However, if this is not the case, because your user base heavily uses mobile devices or your image file sizes are quite big, then you will be happy about our newest feature - support for image interlacing!

We are thrilled to announce the release and immediate availability of the second robot this week - one that a lot of customers have requested over the past months and years - the /document/thumbs Robot!

We are happy to announce the immediate availability of our new /sftp/import robot. As the name implies it allows you to import files from your own server directly into Transloadit. There is a little bit of upfront installation work that you have to do to allow the Transloadit servers to SSH into your server. It's not very much, though, and in fact if you have used the /sftp/store robot before, then you are already good to go.

We are happy to announce that, from now on, we will create MD5 file hashes for all uploaded and imported files, as well as all encoding result files. This allows you to more easily check for files that have been uploaded to Transloadit already via your platform or check downloaded encoding results for integrity.

Our /image/resize Robot is now also able to blur your images! We have added a new blur parameter that takes a radius value and a sigma value to control how much blurring will be applied. Please check out the full documentation for further information.

I'd like to introduce you to several improvements to our site.

We are excited to announce a few updates that we have been working on over the past few weeks. These changes will hopefully serve to further stabilize the platform and make it even faster.

Today, We are happy to present to you the newest member of our robotic family: the /ftp/store Robot.

I am happy to announce that we have enhanced our API by adding a new call to it. The new call allows you to retrieve a list of Assemblies for your account with several useful attributes. You can also do all kinds of filtering as well as pagination. In fact, this is what we are using now from our website as well in the "Assemblies" section.

We have made a change to the way path variables (or Assembly Variables) work. Previously, they were only available for certain parameters for certain Robot, like the path parameter of the /s3/store Robot or the container parameter for the /cloudfiles/store Robot.

on December 20th 2011 we launched a cool feature called real-time encoding which allowed us to encode videos while they were still being uploaded.

In the recent past, we have been experiencing some slowdowns, elevated queue times and error rates. Apart from Route 53, RDS and LAN outages we experienced on EC2, some of these issues were also caused by people sending too many requests at once, for example by importing a large library of videos or images. Today we are fixing that by introducing rate limiting.
