Enhanced Bill Limit Alerts & flexible upload options
Up until now, if you reached your bill limit (in case you had configured one in your account settings) no new Assemblies would be accepted. This is not desirable in most cases, as your users would not be able to upload anything anymore. Also, they would see an awkward error message saying
"BILL_LIMIT_REACHED". The worst part is that you wouldn't even get an email about this. Your upload service might not work, you wouldn't notice and it's only partly your fault ... and partly ours.
Tim KoschützkiConvert PDF files into animated GIFs - animation delays now supported
We have just added a new
delayparameter for our /document/thumbs Robot! It allows you to control the delay between frames when converting PDF files into animated gifs.
Tim KoschützkiTransloadit introduces progressive image rendering
Browsers usually render images from top to bottom as the image's data is downloaded. This is good enough most of the time, because the majority of your images may be pretty small in file size and/or the internet connection of your average user might be really fast. However, if this is not the case, because your user base heavily uses mobile devices or your image file sizes are quite big, then you will be happy about our newest feature - support for image interlacing!

Tim KoschützkiIntroducing Transloadit's bonus & referral discounts

think Transloadit is great and you recommend it to your peers, you can greatly reduce your

Tim KoschützkiIntroducing new /sftp/import Robot for easy file imports
We are happy to announce the immediate availability of our new /sftp/import robot. As the name implies it allows you to import files from your own server directly into Transloadit. There is a little bit of upfront installation work that you have to do to allow the Transloadit servers to SSH into your server. It's not very much, though, and in fact if you have used the /sftp/store robot before, then you are already good to go.
Tim KoschützkiTransloadit adds MD5 hash support for file integrity
We are happy to announce that, from now on, we will create MD5 file hashes for all uploaded and imported files, as well as all encoding result files. This allows you to more easily check for files that have been uploaded to Transloadit already via your platform or check downloaded encoding results for integrity.
Tim KoschützkiIntroducing blurring feature in image resize Robot
Our /image/resize Robot is now also able to blur your images! We have added a new
blurparameter that takes a radius value and a sigma value to control how much blurring will be applied. Please check out the full documentation for further information.

You can also do all kinds of filtering as well as pagination. In fact, this is what we are using now from our website as well in the "Assemblies" section.
Tim KoschützkiAll Robots now support expanded Assembly Variables
We have made a change to the way path variables (or Assembly Variables) work. Previously, they were only available for certain parameters for certain Robot, like the
pathparameter of the /s3/store Robot or thecontainerparameter for the /cloudfiles/store Robot.
Tim KoschützkiDiscontinuing real-time encoding due to growth
on December 20th 2011 we launched a cool feature called real-time encoding which allowed us to encode videos while they were still being uploaded.
Tim KoschützkiIntroducing Assembly Rate Limiting for enhanced stability
In the recent past, we have been experiencing some slowdowns, elevated queue times and error rates. Apart from Route 53, RDS and LAN outages we experienced on EC2, some of these issues were also caused by people sending too many requests at once, for example by importing a large library of videos or images. Today we are fixing that by introducing rate limiting.

Tim KoschützkiTransloadit simplifies pricing for better value
Pricing is hard, and we have gotten a lot of complaints about the complexity of cost-prediction with our current model over time. We have also found that we need to introduce a small base fee in order to provide our service to smaller companies without losing money.
